Moose, Noor, I'm so happy to have you two as friends. Also I can't wait to go watch the new Ninja Turtles Movie with you. I know Shawn feels the same-- about being friends with you, I have no clue if he's excited about the movie.
Well hot damn. Noor is one BEAUTIFUL (among other things like strong, kind, caring, and amazing) Momma. Shawn and I have been friends with Moose since 1996 and we've known Noor since .. ughhh I forget but it's been at least 10 years. I'm so happy we were able to take these photos from them. The last photo in the gallery was taken by Moose for Noor- there are no edits on it, it straight from the camera. Moose also took the picture to the left. Moose is a chemist but he said he's wants to be a photographer now. Moose, Noor, I'm so happy to have you two as friends. Also I can't wait to go watch the new Ninja Turtles Movie with you. I know Shawn feels the same-- about being friends with you, I have no clue if he's excited about the movie.

Back in June we held a contest on Facebook for a creative photo shoot. Lisa entered and won with her idea for a super hero styled shoot at a play ground. First, Shawn and I went searching for an awesome play ground, which was harder than we thought. A lot of play grounds around here don't look fun at all. The one we loved was at Le Marchent St. Thomas. It was awesome and kinda futuristic looking. We decided to do an X-MEN themed shoot, where Xander was at school, learning to use his powers, fight and do other X-MEN-y things. Second, I went searching for materials to make Xander's costume. I found all of what a needed at Value Village and sewed it up. It's a super ambitious project, lots of editing, lot's of learning new, better techniques and lots of fun/screaming and swearing at the monitor. That was a really long sentence..... anyway. I hope you enjoy the first image! There are 4 more to come so stay tuned!!! Same X-MEN time. Same X-MEN channel. Cheers, Sarah Another week and another drink image. This time we tackled a cake batter martini. I struggled with this one. I shot all the images and edited them together three different times before we arrived at the one we liked. It was stressful, not being able to get the images to look how they looked in my head. But there was soooo soooo much cake, which we all know eases the pain. Also Shawn drank the gross milk that the sprinkles were drowned in...*shudder* Helpful tip- Dollar Store sprinkles are GROSS. They look great but they so let you down in the flavour department. But this drink won't !! (see what I did there... ehh?) Ingredients 2 ounces of cake vodka 1 ounce of white chocolate liqueur (substitute chocolate liqueur if you want a chocolate cake taste) 3 ounces milk Mix the ingredients in a martini shaker and add crushed ice. Shake well, then strain into a martini glass. Add ice cubes if preferred to complete the drink. For garnish, have fun with this one and be creative. For the rim, add a light layer of vanilla frosting and roll in cake sprinkles. A birthday candle, a sparkler, and anything else unique can be added to the drink for a great effect. Cheers, Sarah We have a new on going project that I'm super excited about, surreal drink images. I've tried product photography before and struggled with it. My brain just doesn't like things that aren't crazy I guess....but with this project we're given a drink recipe and we create an image in the style I'm most comfortable shooting--surreal. The first drink was a crazy cocktail using vodka, frozen Skittles, cream soda and licorice. The shoot was so fun and so yummy. We made it rain Skittles over and over again, got my camera lens covered in cream soda and ate soooo much licorice. Good times. I'm really pleased with how the final image turned out. I am forever grateful for Shawn always looking out for me, making sure I take enough "background images". Even when I say I have them he makes me check, because usually I don't, and then freak out when I get home and make everything that much harder on myself. *sigh* Anyways I hope you like the image. Try out the cocktail and let me know in the comments how it tastes!! Ingredients 1 ounce flavored vodka (watermelon or cherry) 1 ounce Sour Puss Raspberry 4 ounces cranberry juice 1 ounce Cream Soda Mix the cranberry juice with the vodka and Sour Puss. Then, when ready to serve, add the Cream Soda. Instead of serving over ice, add your favorite chilled hard candy. We suggest Jolly Ranchers or Skittles that were left in the freezer overnight. For that added touch, a piece of cherry licorice completes the drink. Cheers, Sarah I love creating surreal photographs. It's my passion. This photo was the first time I used all but one stock image-( I shot the model). When I create these pictures, I shoot mostly everything I need. I will use stock images for things I can't shoot. So this photo was a real challenge for me. But a good one. I learned lots of new techniques - thank goodness for youtube tutorials. I hope to do more like these. I can't wait.
Cheers, Sarah Last summer I did a shoot with my best friend (of 29 years.. dear lord), Melanie. Mel's a fellow photographer. We don't get to see each other very much as she lives in Alberta. When she was visiting, Mel suggested a faerie photo shoot for her daughter, Sammie. And that just what we did! Cheers, Sarah, Shawn, Mel and Sammie. Tabatha came 1st place in the WBFF Diva Bikini Model 35+ category and 2nd place in their Diva Fitness Model 35+ category.
Congratulations Tabatha for all your hard work and success! Love Sarah & Shawn Have you ever just wanted to kick your text book across the room? Throw all those notes up in the air and storm out of class? Now that you've graduated, you should! And we can help. Meet Jessica. She's felt your pain. She knows exactly what you've gone through. We gave her the opportunity to trash her textbooks and the smile on her face shows how much fun we had! Book a session with us and we'll help you trash your text books in any way you can imagine. Want to set them on fire? Cut them to pieces with a chainsaw? Throw them off a cliff? If you can think of it, we'll make it happen and give you pictures that are worth more then a thousand words! This is Steph. She's awesome. And yes, she does lift. Steph wanted to do a trash the dress shoot at the gym. So we worked with Canada Games Centre to feature Steph's amazing progress. As you can imagine, it was quite the spectacle to see someone making gains in a wedding dress, but we had a lot of fun. Thanks Steph!!! Cheers, Shawn & Sarah |
