So much shooting, so little blogging. I can "hear" my friend/marketing guy chewing me out for not blogging regularly. Whateves, he won't read this.......*shifty eyes* First in the blog line up is Layal, Noor and Mostafa! Layal is seven months now and super sweet. Thanks for looking!!
Cheers, Sarah When I started photography back in 2010, I never thought I'd doing children's photos, let alone children's superhero photos. I just thought I'd be taking creepy photos of myself forever....lol. I love what I do and I love that kids and their parents get just as excited as I do about their photos. Unnnnnnn I hate not knowing how to start blog posts. I'll just start typing... So here we have the WONDERFUL SAM!! We met Sam while she was a hair dresser at One Block and became awesome friends. Sam moved to Life Spa and wanted some fun pictures to put up in The Coast to advertise her move. Seriously, Sam's skin in the second photo KILLS ME. Sam's a beautiful human being inside and out. The last photo is of Sam's cat Doey, who was more than willing to help tear the sheet down. Here's Krishna. He's currently sitting here playing Diablo 3 with Shawn. NERDS. Now they're making fun of each other and sarcastically narrating each others game play. For Krishna this is 1 of 5 portraits we're doing for him. They were to be entered into a contest, but we got side tracked and missed the submission date. This one was not for the contest. This was just for my amusement. The original photo had Jerry Seinfeld in it and was an ad for American Express. This version is slightly better. Yup. Definitely better. Krishna didn't pose for this picture, lol, I found that on his Facebook. Cheers, Sarah We got to shoot Halifax Circus's Winter Solstice Show. It was filled with amazing routines, talents and people. I can't state enough how much I love everyone at the circus, they are all wonderful, kind, loving human beings, every single one of them. I'm so happy that I get shoot these shows for them. There's A LOT of images and I want to put them all up, so grab a tea/coffee or i(nsert beverage here), and let's go.
.... I don't like that song, but it makes for a fun blog title. Anyways!!! It has been too long. I keep meaning to write blog posts, but then I just sit there, starting at the screen, not knowing what to write, giving up and go on tumblr. There are so many photo adventures to write about, Sam our wonderful friend and hair dresser needed photos for The Coast, Halifax Circus had a wonderful winter show, we went to a Frat party and then Valentines. For Valentines we offered vintage valentine cards! The lovely Danielle provided hair and make-up and posing tips for everyone. We took our idea from old Valentines. Heres what we did... Still with me!!? Sweet. We also did two custom valentines for some preschoolers!! Spider-man and Anna from Frozen. Cheers,
Sarah & Shawn I love Tumblr. Most of my internet time is spent on Tumblr. It's so random and funny. I came across this the other day and had to share. Now that's how to Photoshop.
Cheers, Sarah What kid doesn't want to be a superhero? We came up with a great way to make that come true. Check out the "before" picture and see how we turned it into a custom comic book cover, perfect for hanging up in any bedroom. Also check out how we put our new superhero's birthday in the barcode. It's the little things that make the big differences!
...lol I totally didn't write that myself. Our super friend and marketing guy, Krishna did. Sometimes, well most of the time, I struggle with what to say. All I could think of for this blog post was LOOK!! LOOK HOW COOL!!! I love it! Jayden loved it! Everyone loved it!!!! If you want one of your own send me a message, on here, on Facebook or email. You don't have to be a kid either, I know adults love them too. P.S. I used to be a scientist, and I've had lab accidents, and been bitten by spiders, ants, goats, horses, stung by jelly fish... and NO POWERS. Not one.... Happy New Year!!!!! Cheers, Sarah & Shawn Sometimes coming up with an idea is the hardest part of photography. Many of my clients see awesome images on Pinterest or in magazines and want it for themselves. This past weekend, Sheryl wanted a Christmas image to send out to family and friends. She came to me with this sweet photo she found on Pinterest ,left most image, and the right most image is what we created! Check out our Facebook Page to see the rest of what we created.
Cheers, Sarah You might recognize Meaghan and Josh from their wedding photos we did this summer. They wanted Christmas photos with their four cats. Besides being wonderful, caring people they're also the super fun clients. Meaghan's request for photos was, "You do whatever you want." *eeeekkkkkk!!!!!!* It just so happened that I had been hankering to put people in snow globes. And put them in snow globes we did. Afterwards we hung out and I took some photos of their cats. Luchador, has a squinty eye and reminds me of a pirate. He looks even more like a pirate with an eye patch. Hrmmmm maybe I should try to give him a peg leg and a parrot. .....
